I got to experience the pure innocence and lack of all inhibitions again.
Only, it was not me being carefree, but my son, who is 8. I took him to the public pool, swam with him for an hour, and then let him head out on his own. Within 3 minutes he joined a group of kids that were there for summer day camp.
He played with a dozen or so different kids until it was time to leave. As we were walking to the car, he says: "I made a lot of new friends, Mama!".
He did not care what they looked like, talked like, how old they were. He did not care if he never saw them again, and probably does not know their name.
It does not matter, he lives for the moment.
Today (or tomorrow!), I challenge you to live for the moment. Walk up to someone who you think looks interesting, or who you have been eying for months now, but never talked to, and just introduce yourself. It does not matter who/what/why, or if they scream and run away :).
Have no inhibitions, this is the first step to loving your authentic self.
I have done this a few times, and can tell you that it has added people to my life that I just LOVE!! Had I not just talked to them, they would have walked in and out of my life...and I know what I would be missing.
So, go, just DO IT :).
And then tell us what happened.

Wow - that is a huge step for me. I've been meaning to go to the local knitting group at the volunteer center, which meets once of month - for well over a year now - and I've not done it. It meets at 3 in the afternoon and every month I've talked myslef out of it - tomorrow seems to be the day - let's see if I can really do it. Will you come with me? :-)
Lovely post and great idea! Thank you for reminding all of us readers how to be childlike in our approach to life!
I did it...and discovered the person I was speaking to had lived in the same house I'd lived in...learned some awesome history!
Pieceful....I was the same way about going to Yoga. I have been told to do so for years, both for my body and my busy brain. I found this fabulous yoga/mediation garden online, about 20 minutes from me. I kept thinking "wow, I need to go there." But, never went. I ended up going 3 weeks ago (with a friend to hold my hand, lol!!), and it is FABULOUS! I LOVE the teacher, it is a great class, and my body is responding to it with a great big "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH". So, I am taking your hand, putting you in my car, and we are going to knit! :)...Go, go, go! My kids and I go knitting at our library 2x a months, and it is such a wonderful experience. Young and old, just shooting the breeze. Tell me when we are going ....
Tammy, it takes the balls of a kid to remind us :).
Kelly, GOOD FOR YOU! Isn't it invigorating?
Hello,

#2 I know NOTHING about you! Give us a small profile post, then link to it on the main page.
#3 What made you decide to start this blog????
Tell me! Tell me!
I am a media agent, and let me tell you sweetie, you have potential..But you need a little "fine tuning"... Ciao!
Karina
Tammy, you are SO welcome! Visited your blog after a long time, and enjoyed it very much. Quite fabulous, you are :).
Dear Karina!
Welcome to my blog. I always enjoy feedback, here is my response :).
#1 The writing is wonderful, but the back round? Not so wonderful.
H: Oh yes, the background. My mother does not like it much either, and tells me every other day. You will see that I have changed it :). This dear Blogger is getting more and more advanced. I have discovered many wonderful things I can do, and will change the background at my whim.
I am a tree girl, please enjoy the trees........
#2 I know NOTHING about you! Give us a small profile post, then link to it on the main page.
H: And here I feel so transparant & exposed on the web! Check out ABOUT ME up in the tabs, it will give you my essentials :).
#3 What made you decide to start this blog????
Tell me! Tell me!
H: Well, a very long time ago it was just my websit, http://www.goddessinthegroove.com. I wanted a place to connect with the women that emailed me. Plus, a blog is much easier to update with tidbits and pictures, and since I am a busy girl...it made sense to start a blog. I LOVE the comments & connection...even started yet ANOTHER blog to chronicle our journey of sustainability. http://www.herbmagik.blogspot.com.
I hope you enjoy the blog Karina :).
Ciao bella!
